Fr. Sandy's Silver Jubilee

Father Sandy Culley celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving on Wednesday 30 November 2011 in Our Lady and St. Mun’s Church in Dunoon to mark the Silver Jubilee of his priesthood, when a packed church of family members, parishioners and guests were joined by Bishop Joseph Toal and many priests from the diocese and other parishes in Scotland.

Young People from Argyll & the Isles go to World Youth Day


In amongst the million-plus young people who gathered from all over the world in Madrid for World Youth Day were a group from Argyll & the Isles.  Jenna MacLean and Jessica Baker (from Arisaig), Natalie Matheson and Jade Macrury (from South Uist), and Calum Blane (from Stornoway), were accompanied by Fr John Paul MacKinnon, Fr Andrew Barratt and Diocesan Youth Officer, Denise Roberts.  Bishop Joseph Toal who also attended WYD, was able to meet the Argyll group and celebrate Holy Mass with them..... 

Diamond Jubilee in Barra

On a perfect July afternoon Angus John, Canon MacQueen, concelebrated Mass with the Bishop of Argyll and the Isles, Bishop Joseph Toal and was joined by  fellow priests and a large congregation in the beautiful grotto at St Barr’s Church in Northbay, Barra to commemorate his Diamond Jubilee as a priest.
